Best advice I received this week: Read the Bible books entirely (ex. Exodus start to finish) over a few days, if needed as you would a novel, so you'll get everything in context which will help increase your understanding of that book. NASB seems to be the most true to the emotions of the writers of the scripture and is easier to read than the KJV.
